We are Citizens Advice Torbay, your local free advice and information service!

We are here to help you to understand your rights and responsibilities, help you find a way forward and campaign for change on the issues that affect people’s lives. We are a local charity, staffed predominantly by volunteers and available to everyone across Torbay.

During the pandemic, we had to change the way we worked, but we are still very much here to help, no matter who you are and no matter what your problem.

You can contact us through our enhanced Adviceline but would first ask that you visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk for initial advice and information.

Our Adviceline number is 0808 2787859 (Freephone) and is currently available Monday – Friday 9.30am -12.30pm

TV Licence

At Citizens Advice we are concerned that Torbay residents may need help with the new way to get a free tv licence. So, if you are 74 years or older and concerned about paying your licence fee, then talk to us. We can help you with the calculations to see if you are eligible for any Pension Credit – even an award of a £1 a month pension credit would mean a free tv licence. If you aren’t eligible for the free licence, then there is a pay fortnightly/monthly plan available for which we can refer you, which might be easier than paying a lump sum.
